Abstract

Crystalline a-chymotrypsin (Chymosin) is. a pure pmteolytic enzyme extract from pancreas of a cow which´ is effective in healing several conditons, that is various several tissue injuries and circulatory insufficiency due to thrombus. etc. by disolving and digestion of the necrotic tissues. times more effective than trypsin but less side reactions, Shortening the therapeutic period of antibiotics and sterid administration with increasing blood concentration by high diffusion toward a inflammatory focus, indiflerence to . blood coagulability without side reactions, and its stability, etc. This is a -report which has good results using the chymosin for traumatic edema, bacteria] infections, bums, hematomas, traumatic pancreatic cysts, ulcerations, panperitonitis, and pelvic inflammatory diseases, etc. in Seoul Red Cross Hospital (Department of General surgery, Neurosurgery Obstetrics & Gynecology.) and Dong Dae Mun Clinic for about 5 months from Aug., 1665 to Dec., 1965
